Hammo TV Headphone Analysis: Experience with a fourth-generation Apple TV
From my experience with bluetooth headphones, I can say that perfect and constant connectivity does not exist. Although some like the AirPods are getting pretty close. However, all my tests had to do with audio playback without any other variables to consider. Until now. I’ve been testing Noontec’s Hammo TV headphones for several days and this is the first time I’ve tried wireless headphones to listen to TV.
This adds one more complication to bluetooth headphones: synchronization with dialogues, effects and ambient sound. An element that if not solved well, scunts any television headset. With this in mind, I can say that Hammo TV is impeccable. But I’m getting ahead of myself.

Easy and direct installation to television
Hammo TVs need a dock to relay sound back to the headset. That’s why it requires an installation via an audio jack connection. At first I was surprised to try to connect it to the fourth generation Apple TV because it doesn’t have this connection (it’s also true that I’d never needed it). By the way, the PS4 I have also doesn’t have this audio input.
The truth is that Hammo TV is designed to connect directly to the TV through this route or the typical black and white RCA cables. So you don’t have to worry about changing audio sources when you want to use them with different consoles or set-top-boxes.
It’s a little overwhelming to open the box the first time and run into so many wires when you’re supposed to just try to get rid of them. In fact, only three are needed: the current one for the dock, the audio for the TV and the charging one for the headphones. The latter, in addition, we will use it very punctually thanks to its huge battery life.
The dock has a stand to leave the helmets on top and, if you want, connect the charging cable. It looks pretty good in the living room, although in the end you’ll leave them wherever you want or it’s more comfortable.
Synchronized sound for an isolated experience
Let’s go now to what’s really interesting about these headphones. The sound and its timing. I’ve been watching several movies and series on Apple TV over the past few days (ahem, Game of Thrones, because someone has to sacrifice and prove them well). At no time have I felt the sound be more advanced or with some delay, as is often the case with some headphones of this type.
It goes perfect with dialogue and ambient sound. They are stereo headphones, so you can feel some movement in the sound when the right conditions are given in the film or series. And that’s cool, because it generates a much superior experience than when you use the TV speakers (unless you have a home theater system).
And why does one want to listen to a movie with headphones? In addition to having a better sound experience, Hammo TV isolates you perfectly and avoids inconvenience to those around you. Fancy a Song of Ice and Fire marathon? See the latest Star Wars at full volume? Play Jetpack Joyride on your Apple TV in the middle of the night? If you couldn’t do it before because you were bothering someone, these Noontec headphones will mark a before and after in your life.
The connection has a radius of action of 10 meters that lasts quite well even behind doors and walls. It’s probably because it uses bluetooth 4.1, although it doesn’t make much sense to put something on TV and go to another room in the house. But let you know that if you want to do it, you can.
Hammo TV are very attractively priced for everything they offer. Especially if you’ve ever been looking at headphones like this. If you were looking for something similar, they have a high chance of being just what you need.
