according to Kuo, one of the 2021 iPhones would have Touch ID built into the power button …

Apple’s after-iPhone X smartphones don’t have Touch ID. This is because the «all screen» design removed the physical home button, where the fingerprint recognition-based security system was integrated. However, several rumours suggest that the company could bring this feature back.

The most talked about option is to place Touch ID under the screen, just like several android smartphone manufacturers have done, like Samsung. But analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, known for his predictions about future releases of Apple products, says he would be back on the power button of one of the 2021 iPhones.

This iPhone would be a «low cost» model

MacRumors has had access to a note from TF International Securities in which Kuo has revealed that Apple would be planning to launch an iPhone by 2021 with the Touch ID fingerprint sensor built into the terminal’s on/off button. This model is supposed to be «low cost» because the panel would be LCD. In addition, its design would be «all screen», with a smaller notch and no Face ID facial recognition system.

Regarding the Touch ID, Kuo claims to have a «new design» to provide an improved user experience, but has not provided further details on what it would look like. Until 2021 there are still a few years left, so we will have to wait to see if this iPhone ends up coming to market.
